People Still Cry in Summer is a collection of songs written over the past 2- 4 years. Born from voice notes, poems, and scattered thoughts, these songs became a body of work that helped me process some of the most challenging chapters of my life.
I’ve always seen albums and EPs as more than music they are maps of self-discovery. My last EP, Being (2020), marked an earlier stage of that journey. People Still Cry in Summer continues it, reflecting how I’ve had to rebuild my confidence, shed shame, and reclaim my voice after years of personal and industry challenges.
I’m often seen as joyful, energetic, and full of life and that is true but there is depth behind the light. At times I’ve felt out of place, anxious, and even stripped of my identity as an artist. When my music was treated like a cash grab rather than a part of my humanity, it left scars. Writing these songs became my way of surviving, letting go, and starting again not from nothing, but from a place of strength.
This EP is about resilience. It holds contradictions: joy and sadness, peace and anxiety, fear and bravery. It’s a reminder that to be human is to hold many truths at once. For anyone standing at a crossroads needing reassurance, needing to be reminded of their own strength I hope this project becomes that mirror.
People Still Cry in Summer is my reclamation of power, my refusal to give up, and my reminder that we are always more than our pain.
